Customer Service Field Representative - Chatham, Ontario

Entegrus Powerlines, a progressive company dedicated to providing the highest level of service and a positive work environment, requires a Customer Service Field Representative for its Chatham location.  Reporting to the Director of Customer Service, this position is responsible for providing customer service at hydro and water meter points.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with Customer Account Representatives to coordinate customer service field work;
  • Provide timely and exceptional customer service in response to customer requests;
  • Carry out field service orders, including final meter reads, check readings, delivery of customer collection notices, completion of service disconnects and reconnects for water and electric accounts;
  • Install, remove or replace water and hydro meters as required;
  • Operate water service curb stops as required;
  • Test water and hydro meters at customer premises as required;
  • Ensure assigned work is completed in a professional, safe and cost-effective manner, following Occupational Health & Safety Act, IHSA/EUSA rulebook and corporate policies; and,
  • Other duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:  Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma
  • Experience:  Preference will be given to individuals with plumbing and electrical certifications or expertise with residential electric meter installations.
  • Knowledge:  Demonstrable and up to date knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations, including Health & Safety regulations and policies such as Occupational Health &Safety Act, IHSA/EUSA rulebook, WHIMIS, CPR, First Aid and all other applicable legislation.
  • Skills:  Provide exceptional customer service skills in a professional, efficient manner. Must be able to assess various situations and respond in a safe, professional and efficient approach. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.  Must have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Other:  Ability to shift focus quickly in response to emergencies or other priorities in the workplace and maintaining focus on multiple tasks with varying priorities.  Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s Licence.  Must be in excellent physical condition able to perform all duties related to this role, including working within confined spaces and performing tasks associated with work in all outdoor elements.  The candidate must be a self-starter and have excellent organizational skills.  Must be able and willing to be on call on a rotational basis throughout the year, including the ability at the scene of the call within 60 minutes from the receipt of the call. 

 

This position is a full-time union position with compensation based on the IBEW Collective Agreement.  Current hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
