Corporate Communications Specialist (Contract Position)

Entegrus Powerlines, a progressive company dedicated to providing the highest level of service and a positive work environment, requires a Corporate Communications Specialist for our Chatham Office for a 12-month contract.  The position reports to the Director of Conservation & Communications, and works with senior leadership to develop and execute the organization’s internal and external communications.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write and edit press releases, as well as articles/advertisements for publication and organizational announcements.   Prepare rate brochures and other customer communications.  Assist senior leadership with speeches and presentations.
  • Develop and execute project-specific communication plans to ensure that key messages are consistently and effectively communicated.
  • Develop internal and external corporate events and lead event planning.  Provide leadership and support to all corporate initiatives.
  • Manage website, social media and digital signage content, including writing and editing articles, and liaising with appropriate internal subject matter experts to ensure content is current, correct and effective.
  • Co-ordinate media buying, ad design and/or the facilitation of ad design. 
  • Represent Entegrus at public events when required.
  • Manage media inquiries by responding or coordinating interview requests.
  • Provide marketing and communication support for conservation promotions, advertisements and customer education pieces.
  • Liaise with creative agencies regarding the creation of branded materials. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: A university degree or college diploma in Communications, Journalism or Business Administration.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a communications position in a corporate environment.
  • Skills:  Excellent written communications, including editing and proofing.  Strong oral and presentation skills.  Strong organizational skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office and Adobe suite of programs.

This is a 12-month contract position running from approximately mid-February 2018 to mid-February 2019, based on 37.5 hours per week.  Current hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (with a 1 hour lunch), Monday to Friday.  Candidates must possess a valid, unsuspended driver’s licence.  Some regional travel to other Company locations may be required.
